XOXO, Gossip Girl

Guess what day it is! Gossip Girl Day. (Yes, it's totally a thing.) In celebration of one of my favorite shows, I am participating in a Gossip Girl Link-up. Each person who participates was to model an outfit after a character and answer a couple questions! Here we go-

1.Who was your outfit inspired by and why did you pick them? Naturally, I chose Blair. I just think her style is very put-together and classy. She never looks gaudy or unfinished. I wore a long coat like she usually does, circular sunglasses much like hers when she's out on the town, a high collar blouse, wool skirt, gray tights, my Kate Spade bag, and some precious bow flats.

2.What is your favorite moment from the show? One of my favorite moments is when Blair says this : "Destiny is for losers, it's just a stupid excuse to wait for things to happen instead of making them happen." I see this quote every day because one of my friends wrote it on a post-it note and stuck it to my mirror.
I hope everyone had a fabulous Gossip Girl Day! Click on this link and scroll down to view the other posts that corresponded with this link-up!

Writing Pretty

2015 is year to learn new things. I realized that I've always been thinking "That would be a cool thing to know how to do," and I would continue with my day. Well, I've decided that it's time to learn those things. The list includes barre, latte art, liquid watercolors, and...calligraphy. And guess what? I went and learned calligraphy! Well, kinda. It turns out you can totally fake calligraphy and I think it looks more personal and pretty than the real thing. All you have to know to fake calligraphy is below!
-Start out with a good pen. I would recommend not using a ballpoint, but rather a felt tip. I used Papermate Flair and Sharpie Pens.

1. Write your selected words in cursive. It really can look like a 3rd grader did it, and it will still turn out fine! That's the beauty of this. Bonus points if you add some little curls along the way.
2. Go back over your words and every time your pen goes down, darken the line. I went through a bunch of calligraphy documents and came up with a pretty alphabet that is below.

That is literally it. The more you practice, the better it will be. See some more tips to improve your writing below!
I liked writing down some of my favorite quotes!

Sail to Sable: Review & Code

I was so happy when I ordered my Sail to Sable dress, and I was even happier when I figured out that I got it for over 70% off! The way I did this was a found a dress I loved in the sale section. Then, I did some research to find a discount code. I found the code SUPER 30, which gave me 30% off! So, between the dress being on sale plus the code, I saved around $150. There are plenty of tunics from past seasons that are still adorable and I don't see them going out of style any time soon. They are simply classic.
This dress is going to be perfect for spring break as a cover-up on the beach and to wear as a dress in the summer. It is a match made in heaven with Platinum Jacks. The fabric light so you won't get hot, but it isn't so light that it will go sheet on your sunny days by the pool. I was impressed the overall structure and quality of this dress.
Hope this helped!

Meg
