Here's to Three Years

Three years ago on this day I started A Sunny State of Mind, and I can hardly believe it. Granted, I started my blog when I was twelve so it wasn't quite what it is now... let's just say I had some learning to do. (Sneak a peek at my first post here, it's pretty rough). The other day I was reading through some of my 2013 posts with some blogging friends and cringing. They were almost embarrassing to read and I actually considered deleting them, but then I clicked back to 2015 and read my current posts. I am so proud of how far this little blog of mine has come, and my older posts serve as a reminder of that. Through A Sunny State of Mind, I have made some amazing blogging friends, made people happy or inspired, and also have made myself happy.

I wish I could find a better way to explain to people that just because you are "internet friends" with someone, doesn't mean they aren't a real friend. It also doesn't mean they're out to murder you. Sure, I've had my share of creeps and mean people, but I've also met some of the kindest, most helpful, sweetest people ever. It's nice to have people who understand the behind-the-scenes of blogging, because I'm sure my real life friends get tired of the "that would make a really good blog post!" and "wait...can I take a picture of that for Sunny State of Mind?' and of course the, "No one eat yet! I need a picture!"

"Wait! I need a picture!" in action

Something about having an outlet to spread and share my ideas has brought out the best in me. I've always been a creative person, but having a community to embrace my ways and the things I love has been a dream come true. I've loved sharing my outfits with the people who follow along. Being able to be confident in what I wear has made all the difference, and this blog is a definite confidence booster.

One more thing! I also wanted to share with you my top 5 all time favorite posts, so here they are:

1: My New York City recaps: Day 1 and Day 2 (2015)
2: The post sponsored by my favorite brand (2015)
3: The List (2015)
4: Copycat Lush Bath Bomb Recipe (2013)
5: Fourth of July Outfits (Despite the awkward poses) (2014)

They say the third time is a charm, and within this third year of my blog, I've been able to redesign and nail down what I really want it to be. These past three years have been so fun, I hope I continue to write things that strike your fancy and you'll stick around to enjoy the ride.

XX,
Meg
